TDA’s first comprehensive reorganisation since its opening in 2007 is taking place. Schools throughout the country will be facing further budget restrictions and TDA is taking action now to ensure that job losses are minimised and quality teaching standards are maintained. Around 30 posts are at risk which is equivalent to only 9% of the total workforce. It is hoped that natural wastage will account for as many of these posts as possible with normal staff turnover around 12% to 17% per year.
The 46 day consultation period will start on the 12th January 2015 and the reorganisation will be in place for the start of the new academic year in September 2015. Over the last academic year the TDA Directorate has reviewed the Academy’s structure and is taking this opportunity to provide greater accountability and greater motivation within the system to further build on the best ever exam results seen last year.

The reorganisation is designed to ensure a consistent application of policies across the whole Academy and this, together with increased accountability for all staff, will help to improve academic performance and behaviour both within and outside of the Academy. Increased progression opportunities for staff and performance related pay will also provide a highly motivated workforce that is fully committed to working towards the Academy gaining an ‘Outstanding’ OFSTED rating as soon as possible.
The impact of the reorganisation will be closely monitored to ensure that quality standards are maintained and improved and the biggest indicator of success will be that more students than ever make better progress.
