The Drama Dept have had a busy time so far this year!

So far this year the Drama Deparment have had a busy time.  Year 12 and 13 Drama students have been on 2 trips to the Curve in Leicester to see Frantic Assemblies performance of "Othello" and an in-house production of "Abigail's party".         2 further trips are also planned to see John Godber's "Bouncers" at the Key Theatre and "Love Labour's Lost" at RSC Stratford.

20 A Level Drama students performed an abridged version of "Romeo and Juliet" at the Key Theatre as part of the Shakespeare Schools Festival as well as participating in workshop.

Year 9 - 13 Drama students were also invited to a performance of "Nativity at Creakbottom".  This was performed by a professional touring company who visited the Thomas Deacon Academy on 15th December 2014 to lead some workshops which we hope will assist our students with their live performance work.

Year 10 are involved in Theatre-in-Education projects with the Thomas Deacon Academy Junior College and have performed some devised pieces for them.

A Level Drama students also performed 2 devised pieces of drama at Christmas as part of their Unit 3 which will contribute to their overall A Level grade.

Rehearsals for the annual school musical are well under way under the direction of Mr Stephen Shaw.  This year's performance will be "Grease" and it will be performed over 3 nights in March of this year.

A Drama Club for Year 7 & 8's runs on Tuesday Week B in A06 from 2.05pm to 3.50pm.  Just pop along and put your acting talents to the test!
