Working Together
supporting learning and careers
Thomas Deacon Academy continues to work with it's community and local commerce to support learning and careers. Our commitment to supporting all our learners achieve their full potential is the driver for us to pursue close meaningful partnerships with employers, training providers and educational institutions.
The i.can.be.. learning and careers team are actively looking at ways to join up learning with employers and mentors from the world of work. Building effective partnerships between education and employers can make a real difference to young people; to understand the opportunities and skills required in a rapidly changing labour market. Work-related learning (either learning about work, through work or for work) gives direct insight into the world of work and can have a profund impact on young person's ambitions and aspirations and motivation.
Experiential learning is more than just giving information. It helps young people to identify how their subjects, skills and qualities are used in the workplace and provides a better understanding about their options.
It may serve to support your Corporate Social Responsibility strategy or it could be good for PR, but many organisations genuinely work with Thomas Deacon Academy because they want to support and engage with young people.
