The Academy publishes information about the arrangements for admission, including over subscription criteria, in September of each year for admission in the following year. This includes details of open evenings and other opportunities for prospective students and their parents to visit the Academy.

The Academy also offers post-16 education. Students from any educational establishment are welcome to apply to join the Academy in the Sixth Form to follow an A-Level based programme. Detailed information is contained in the Academy's sixth form prospectus, issued on an annual basis.

The information below specifically deals with applications for entry into Year 7 in September 2010. The Academy receives more than three applications for each place it has available.
