My Child's Data

Raising Achievement by viewing your child’s data (My Child's Data)

Research over the last decade has consistently shown that by providing parents with timely and meaningful information about their children’s school lives, parents can help raise learner achievement. This improvement is even greater in learners from disadvantaged backgrounds.

With this in mind, every secondary school must provide parents with the following information by 2010.

• Attendance and behaviour (both positive and challenging)
• Progress and attainment
• Special needs

We strongly believe that by giving you access to these details, you will be in a stronger and better position to aid your child’s curriculum achievement.

From the 23rd February 2009 we will be opening our school Management Information System to parents of pupils at the Academy. By doing so you will be able to view the following details:

• Student details
• Timetable
• Attendance
• Reports
• Behaviour (events)

Using this information, you as a parent will be able to view and check the details relating to your child’s personal details, thereby becoming aware early if there are any errors in our data. By using the timetable you will know ahead of time what your child should be doing in school and therefore be a position to ask challenging questions regarding coursework and homework. Details of attendance will give you a view of your child’s AM and PM attendance in school. The Reporting system will give you access to view your child’s reports anytime. As you know the current system we use sends them home with pupils twice a year which is not always reliable. You will also have access to your child’s event history, allowing you to view their behaviouralprogress.

We hope that you will agree that the addition of this service will be of real benefit to you.

To use this system you will require a username, password and internet address. If you would like this service please complete the form overleaf and return it by post to the Academy at the address show or send the requested information to the email address shown below.
